NOTICE: The next OFARC face-to-face meeting will be held on November 22nd, at the American Red Cross starting at 9:00 am.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Nov 22nd.  We will meet face-to-face at the American Red Cross building, location: 2700 Southwest Fwy.  If you can, make plans to have breakfast before the meeting at the IHOP (nearby at Kirby), 2515 Southwest Fwy, Houston, TX 77098 at 7:30AM.

If you are subscribed, general announcements to club members and fellow subscribers can be directed to the OFARC reflector here.

Announcements

  • The minutes from our last meeting (Octorber 25th, connector soldering class) are located at the 'Meetings' link at the top of the this page.
  • No agenda has been proposed for the November meeting.  A roundtable discussion on various ham topics of interest is likely.  Show-and-tell items are always welcome.
  • Reminder: I have scheduled our Christmas luncheon for Sunday, December 14th at the Spaghetti Western Italian Cafe on Shepherd Dr. starting at 1:00pm.  Guests are welcome.
  • The 2025 club calendar and 2m net control operator schedule can be found at the 'Events' link at the top of this page.
  • While we have a number of new volunteers (and we do very much appreciate you that have stepped up!), we are still looking for more volunteer net control operators to host one or more of our Tuesday night 2m nets.  Make it your goal to do your part for at least one session this year!  The script prominately posted at the 'Downloads' tab above will guide you along with little effort.  If you would like to edit or update the script, please let me know.
  • Contact Mark if you are interested in license exam testing.  Note: We are no longer testing at TranStar; we now conduct testing at the American Red Cross location exclusively.  Also, see the 'Exam Sessions' link above for more information.
  • If you have a photo of your ham shack or favorite operating location, please send it on and I'll post them for all our members see... and comment!!  Please include your callsign in the photo.  Images submitted so far can be found here!
  • If you'd like to be added to our email reflector and share in the dialog between club members and local area hams, send me a request.
