Our next meeting is scheduled for June 24th.  We'll meet face-to-face at the American Red Cross building, location: 2700 Southwest Fwy.  If you can, make plans to have breakfast before the meeting at The Toasted Yolk (Heights location), 4601 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007 at 7:30AM.

If you are subscribed, general announcements to club members and fellow subscribers can be directed to the OFARC reflector here.

Announcements

  • Following a very typical monthly meeting starting at 9:00 am on June 24th (license exam testing starting at 9:30), we'll attempt to fix an antenna on the roof, 6 volunteers needed.  Afterwards, we'll participate in the Field Day event at the American Red Cross facility starting at 1300 CDST.  Ralph to provide bandbass filters.  Bring any additional equipment you would like to tryout.  It is recommended to bring a set of headphones and splitter to assist in logging QSOs.
  • For more information about FD23, see this link.
  • Martin has appealed to us to vote on club activities and presentation topics for the rest of the year.  The votes have been cast and results can be found here.  Martin will organize a schedule of presenters based on our preferences.  He has since posted a survey about your station and operating habits and is again appealing for volunteers to present at our meetings.
  • The Events page has been updated to include the latest schedule for 2m Net Control Operators.  Stephen has dropped off the volunteer list and it would be a big help if someone could volunteer to fill his spot.  It's not that hard; all you have to do is read the SCRIPT... our nets pretty much run themselves!!
  • Repairing an old rig or want to learn more about an old radio you heard about or saw at a hamfest?  Check out the online radio museum here.
  • Contact Mark if you are interested in License exam testing.  Also, see the "Exam Sessions" link above for more information.
  • If you have a photo of your ham shack or favorite operating location, please send it on and I'll post them for all our members see... and comment!!  Please include your callsign in the photo.  Images submitted so far can be found here!
  • If you'd like to be added to our email reflector and share in the dialog between club members and local area hams, send me a request.
