Announcements

  • Our last face-to-face meeting was held on November, 20th at the TranStar facility as planned.  Stephen (W2WF) hosted the in-person meeting along with Zoom attendees.  The primary topic of our the meeting was bandpass filters, construction and theory presented by Ralph (KEHDF) and Barry (KG5IRR).  Barry's presentation and Ralph's construction details can be found at the "Downloads" link above.  In addition, Stephen shared two presentations about configuring his portable rig for winlink communications.  They can be found on our youTube channel.
  • I've recently discovered the QEX magazine, published every 2 months. Digital copies are available to ARRL members through this link.
  • Also, digital copies of the NCJ magazine can be found here.  There is an interesting bandpass filter contruction project described in the Nov/Dec issue designed to prevent interference between two stations operating two portions (e.g. digital/CW and SSB) of the same ham band.  Tip: After you have logged in and clicked on the link for the latest issue, use the "Menu" icon on the top right of the screen to locate the archive of back issues.  Specific pages can selected for export to a pdf file.
  • License exam testing has resumed at TranStar in conjunction with our monthly meetings starting at at 9:30am.  See the "Exam Sessions" link above for more information.
  • If you have a photo of your ham shack or favorite operating location, please send it on and I'll post them for all our members see... and comment!!  Please include your callsign in the photo.  Images submitted so far can be found here!
  • If you'd like to be added to our email reflector and share in the dialog between club members and local area hams, send me a request.
