The next OAK FOREST AMATEUR RADIO CLUB meeting will be held on July 24th, 2021. We will now meet at The Toasted Yolk (Heights location), 4601 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007 for breakfast at 7:45AM, followed by the meeting at the Houston TranStar Building (west entrance) starting 9:00AM. We are limited to 29 attendees, will be required to mask up and get temperature-screened at the door. We have been successful in holding hybrid meetings in the conference center to link up with remote Zoom participants. A Zoom invitation will be sent out the days before in the usual way.
Announcements
- Our face-to-face meeting was held on June, 26th at the TranStar facility as planned. Stephen hosted the in-person meeting along with Zoom attendees. The minutes and FieldDay report was captured by Mark (WB5ANN) and can be found at the yellow "Meetings" link above.
- The wet FieldDay outing at American Legion Park was successful after the rain cleared out in the afternoon. Mark has done a fine job documenting the event including photos of setup, operating, and visitors. His minutes include our modest list of QSOs. The outing was not without technical difficulties but many were overcome. Many of our club members decided to work from home. Jeremy (KG5PYY) has agreed to collect the QSOs from the members and submit a comprehensive report to the ARRL. Send Jeremy a list of your QSOs if you've not done so already.
- License exam testing has resumed at TranStar in conjunction with our monthly meetings starting at at 9:30am. See the "Exam Sessions" link above for more information.
